The Anzisha Prize is the premier award for Africa’s young entrepreneurial leaders. Each year, 12 fellows are selected and flown to South Africa for training at the African Leadership Academy and to compete for over $75,000 in cash prizes to support their businesses.

It seeks to recognize young entrepreneurs, age 15-22, who have developed and implemented innovative solutions to challenges facing their communities. The Prize recognizes young leaders whose passion for Africa drives them to design and develop projects that transform their communities and continent. The Anzisha Prize is a partnership between African Leadership Academy and The MasterCard Foundation.

What are the criteria?

Applicants will be judged on:

• Impact: applicants’ efforts have a demonstrated, measurable and positive outcome.

• Ingenuity: applicants take a new and better approach to a pressing problem in their community.

• Scalability: applicants’ solutions have the potential to be replicated in communities facing similar challenges.
